2026 BREAKWEEK Grantees

Every nonprofit in R&R’s BREAKWEEK program will pause their organization’s operations for their entire team for 1-week in 2026. It’s called Collective Rest!

To help ensure their BREAKWEEK is most impactful and supportive for their staff, grantees will receive $3k, expert coaching support, a customized evaluation tool and implementation guide, and peer-to-peer engagement opportunities.

The application process proved just how much Jewish nonprofit talent needs a break. So much so that we almost tripled the original number of grants given to 27 organizations!

Organizational-wide closures are a proven practice that have been utilized across sectors to promote habits of wellbeing, retention and productivity, and combat burn-out, attrition and exhaustion. Rest-based interventions, such as BREAKWEEK, are a critical part of equity work, defining organizational culture and giving all team members agency to help make their day-to-day feel sustainable. In many cases, a collective rest policy is the *only* fully equitable time-off policy in an organization’s handbook!

The BREAKWEEK grant honors these 27 organizations’ deep commitment to strengthening its culture and supporting its employees in accessing new avenues of rest and recovery this year.
